In my head
Back in the swing of work, which is piling up, and the weeks are flying by.
All good. I've settled into the rhythm of being back at work, and while there's a lot of it, that's exactly what keeps my head down and makes the weeks go by at a crazy pace. Between some great projects and the days off I still have to take before the end of the year, the rest of 2026 should fly by just as fast.
On the screen
Three series, one anime, and Dragon Ball with my daughter.
Season 3 of Silo is leaving me cold, while season 3 of The Walking Dead: Dead City goes down easy, carried by Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohan, two actors I'd follow anywhere even after watching The Walking Dead twice over. My partner and I are working through Yellowstone alongside it, halfway into season 2 and still glad we started, after getting hooked on Dutton Ranch, its more recent offshoot. When I have twenty minutes over lunch, I put on an episode of Frieren, a gorgeous anime. And I've started Dragon Ball with my daughter, the uncensored version, which plays out with a four-year-old about the way you'd expect. Father of the year.

Dead as Disco, the WoW Forever beta, and a WoW private server for busy parents.
I'm still on Dead as Disco, that brawler you play like a rhythm game, and I like it a lot. I'm also playing the World of Warcraft Forever beta, after refusing to pay $60 to test it, thanks to a key Blizzard sent me. Thank you, especially since I don't even have an active subscription! And since Ascension shut down, I've been meeting up with friends on a small homemade World of Warcraft private server, because we're all parents and short on time. We can jump into a dungeon fast, tune the difficulty, and fill the group with bots. Parent-friendly MMORPG, in short.
In my ears

I keep introducing my daughter to all kinds of music, and lately we've been deep in rock. We dance to Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "Don't Stop Me Now" and to AC/DC's "Highway to Hell" and "Back in Black," and she loves it.

We're stretching the summer a little with plenty of hearty salads, ahead of a good run of restaurants, since my daughter will soon be staying with her grandparents over the school break. We plan to make the most of it and raid the world's cuisines across Paris.
